Submit - A Five Letter Dirty Word?

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

In today's age, we have a lot of dirty words. Many times they are four letter words. But submit, it is a five letter word. In is one that has been forgotten about intentionally. It is not discussed at the dinner table. You rarely see it on TV. But it is always there pressuring you. It wants to force you into a behavior where the end result is success.
I have pondered one day the word 'submit' and 'submission.' Have been to Washington D.C., New York, and London in addition to enjoy a 'sub' every now and then, I understood the word 'sub' where we get our word subway. Subway is a transit system that runs below grownd or "under." Understanding Sub meaning under or below. I looked at the word mission. Mission is a cause or passion of someone. If we are to submit to God, submission causes us to come up under the mission of the Father.
Compelling thought? It makes it easier to submit. Submission is not slavery. When you submit, you are not bound to a person. You willingly accept the mission of the person you are following and under their direction, carry out that mission.
That is what we are to do with God-submit. We are to carry out his mission. Simply, it is not that dirty of a word as I once thought.
